Affectionately called “the northern lights bed” by the Forest Shade, Laah
hills are a serene grassland, mist-hugged and dreamy. It is most spectacular in summer, during the ripening of glaaberry – small round berries that
emit faint white glow. On a dark night the hills light up with myriads of berries
that dance in the grass like a fallen starry sky.
Among Laah’s round backs stood the town of Glaeright, but crushed by Zea’s
rage, it is now no more than a ruin, silent and drowned in gentle green.
